Family Law Hotline

The Hotline, operated in partnership with the Legal Aid Bureau, Inc., is a free service to people with basic family law questions such as "What are the grounds for divorce?" or "If I leave with the kids can I still get child support?" The volunteer attorneys screen the clients for income eligibility and collect basic data required by the funding source, Maryland Legal Services Corporation. The Hotline is staffed by attorneys experienced in family law.

The Hotline operates Monday - Friday 9:30am - 4:30pm, in two volunteers shifts of three and one half hours each.

Volunteer attorney's can staff the Hotline Monday through Friday. Each shift lasts three and one half hours. Volunteers are asked to commit to 2-4 shifts per year.

If you would like to volunteer, contact WLC at 410-321-8761 or download a volunteer sign up form.

Internships

The WLC offers internships for law school students throughout the year. Interns are placed in our domestic violence projects, such as POARP and MEDOVI, and in our administrative office depending on the needs of the WLC. Interns are expected to commit to 15 hours per week. Please call to check the availability of internship opportunities. Unfortunately, due to limited resources, funding is not available for these internships. However, the hours can be flexible and part-time applicants are encouraged to apply.

If you would like to apply for an internship, please forward a cover letter, intern application and resume Danielle Cover, Women's Law Center, 305 W. Chesapeake Avenue, Suite 201, Towson, MD 21204.
